WHAT IS CANCER RELATED FATIGUE?
Fatigue is a common symptom of cancer and its treatments. It can cause an overwhelming lack of energy and exhaustion arising from mental, physical or emotional exertion. It is not usually improved by sleep.
Research shows that most cancer sufferers describe fatigue as one of the most distressing and disabling issues that they have to deal with. It can affect your ability to carry out everyday activities such as cooking, gardening or going to work. Your memory and concentration may also be affected and you may experience anxiety, low mood and sleep disturbance. This can result in a loss of interest in socialising with family and friends.
